Good news Update: Ferncreek Speed Cushions

Great news, neighbors! The city has confirmed me that the Ferncreek speed cushions are officially moving forward, with construction expected to begin this summer.

The city's new Senior Engineer, is now leading the project and will be providing us with an updated visual exhibit and a firm construction schedule soon. I will share those details with you all as soon as I receive them.

Thank you for your continued patience as we work together to keep our neighborhood safe!

  • 🆕 Community Sign: The Board is in the process of acquiring new signs for the following: Community Wide Events, Board Meetings, Garage Sales

  • 🆕 🚧 [ IN PROGRESS ] City of Fort Worth Construction/ Front Entrance Update:
  • The Board reppresentative recently spoke with the City of Fort Worth liaison/inspector regarding the ongoing construction at the front entrance.

Below is a summary of the city construction updates:

  • Sidewalk: The city contractor will expend the sidewalk on Cascade Canyon road when the meters after the meters moved as part of the construction project

  • City Water Meter: The city meter will be moved slightly by the city contractor to clear the new sidewalk path.

  • Detector Check: Currently a trip hazard, this will  be relocated as part of the road construction project out of the sidewalk path by the city or ToMC can have a licensed irrigator remove it with full reimbursment
  • Planter Boundaries: The city contractor will repair and re-establish the planter edging. The HOA will be responsible for resuming normal seasonal flower plantings once the boundaries are set.
  • Sod and Seed Limits: The city’s contract covers laying sod exactly two feet behind the new sidewalks. Any disturbed areas beyond that two-foot line, up to the planter edge, will be soded and watered by the city until established by our sprinkler system.
  • ✅  Mailbox repair udate: SBB informed the Board that the Postal Service repaired the mailbox on Cascade Canyon Trail for free.

  • ✅  Courtyard Fence

The fence has been repaired. See picture below

  •  ✅ Green Space Camera Enhancements

Removed and stored for future use

  •   ✅ Financial Update:

In a major win for our community's finances, the Board recently resolved an unexpected 2009–2010 city mowing lien that had gone unnoticed for years due to a mailing address error in the City's database. By coordinating directly with the Fort Worth Code Compliance Department, the Board successfully negotiated the original balance of $3,347.44 down to a final settlement of just $570.00. This hands-on effort saved the HOA over $2,700 and further protected our fiscal health!

  • ✅ Lawn Service Update:

Regular service is resumed. Common area will be serviced every Monday
